Food is Tim Crowley’s first love. His passion for exceptional quality and imaginative flavour is the driving force behind Crowley’s of Suffolk; the ultimate in luxury hampers and gourmet food.
A self-described ‘feeder’, Tim has been cooking from the age of 8 and – throughout a successful run in the City – occasionally conducting business over lunch twice in one day, earned him the fond nickname, ‘Timmy Two Lunches.’
Tim’s love of gastronomy and his calling to create incredible cuisine meant that a career in finance was finite. To this day, Steve Jobs’ infamous quote remains a favourite; ‘… the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do.’
A keen sportsman, organising shooting syndicates meant that Tim was able to indulge his passion for food, experimenting with taste combinations to prepare outstanding lunches for each event. Tim quickly became known for his deep understanding of flavour, attention to detail and commitment to working with organic, superior produce. The idea of developing unique, speciality hampers was formed.
‘A great deal of thought goes into the contents of each of our hampers. I aim to select the very best of things that people would not perhaps consider or be able to source themselves.’
Tim developed Crowley’s of Suffolk to offer much more than the typical hamper which often contain fillers which are never used and pushed to the back of the cupboard. Tim ensures contents are complimentary and delightfully unexpected and every hamper includes detailed serving suggestions.
Key to every Crowley’s hamper is a focus on wonderful, fresh produce. Although this is of course challenging in terms of logistics and delivery, it ensures that the contents are natural and unprocessed. Speciality hams are treated and prepared using a method exclusive to Crowley’s and every ingredient – personally sourced and selected by Tim – has been through rigorous taste testing before meeting his approval. Proud to partner with small artisan producers, Tim supports suppliers in Suffolk where he lives and throughout Spain and France.

Offering the finest produce along with unique flavours resulted in a fast growing and loyal customer base. Such was the demand at Christmas that new seasonal hampers have been added to the range including those for Easter, Mother’s and Father’s Day which sit alongside ‘The Full House’, ‘Deluxe’ and ‘Gourmand.’
